LM501 and Madrix
Anyone out there know how to configure a LM501 pixel controller to communicate with Madrix? The docs that came with unit are pretty useless. It claims to support Artnet however I don't see anyway to set the Artnet subnet on the LM501. Just the IP address. Doesn't Artnet require at 255.0.0.0 subnet setting? I've tried artnet of from other sources beside Madrix without luck..... argh

As I read in the manual the subnetmask seems to be 255.255.255.0 with a default IP adress 192.168.1.X. Please find out the default IP adress (192.168.1.XX) of the controller and use another IP adress (192.168.1.X) for the computer. For example if the controller has the IP adress 192.168.1.1, than your computer could have an IP adress from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254. The subnetmask of the controller and your computer need to be the same (in this case 255.255.255.0) It is recommended from the Art-Net standard to use a 255.0.0.0 subnetmask and IP adress of 2.X.X.X or 10.X.X.X. Nevertheless please try to change the IP adress of the controller and your computer to 2.X.X.X or 10.X.X.X as recommended from the standard.
To sum up, please try to use the default IP adresses (remember to use the same subnetmask and valid IP adresses as explained above) for the controller and your computer.
If it works, than try use the IP adresses (2.X.X.X or 10.X.X.X) as recommended from the Art-Net standard.
Please keep in mind, that the first three parts of the IP adresses need to be the same if you can't change the subnetmask 255.255.255.0. For example if the controller has the IP adress 10.1.1.1, than your computer could have a IP adress from 10.1.1.2 to 10.1.1.254.

Thanks for the help. Sadly it doesn't appear that the controller supports transmitting Artnet on any subnet range other than 255.0.0.0 AND the subnet on the LM-501 also appears hard-coded to the subnet you believe its defaulted to. I can't seem to find any users out there that have experience with this thing..
I will have a 2 universe version of Madrix tomorrow and my long term hope is to trigger it from the above controller, however I have to understand how the Artnet system works on the LM, and with the documentation is being so poor, its a Chinese puzzle right now....
